White Women Get Angry, Too
Just saw the Ice Queen talking about how women are supporting your candidacy. It is pretty obvious that she’s experiencing a real brain freeze as her approval rating among women continues to drop. And now it appears that even the most feminist organization on the face of the earth hasn’t warmed up to her either. First Gloria and now NOW? Well, that’s a subject for another post…
Here’s the endorsement from the National Organization for Women for the Obama-Biden ticket:
Subject: Women and Sarah Palin
Friends, We are writing to you because of the fury and dread we have felt since the announcement of Sarah Palin as the Vice-Presidential candidate for the Republican Party.
We believe that this terrible decision has surpassed mere partisanship, and that it is a dangerous farce on the part of a pandering and rudderless Presidential candidate that has a real possibility of becoming fact.
Perhaps like us, as American women, you share the fear of what Ms. Palin and her professed beliefs and proven record could lead to for ourselves and for our present or future daughters. To date, she is against sex education, birth control, the pro-choice platform, environmental protection, alternative energy development, freedom of speech, gun control, the separation of church and state, and polarbears. To say nothing of her complete lack of real preparation to become the second-(and possibly first)-most-powerful person on the planet.
We want to clarify that we are not against Sarah Palin as a woman, a mother, or, for that matter, a parent of a pregnant teenager, but solely as a rash, incompetent, and altogether devastating choice for Vice President. Ms. Palin’s political views are in every way a slap in the face to the accomplishments that our mothers and grandmothers and great-grandmothers so fiercely fought for, and from which we’ve so demonstrably benefited. First and foremost, Ms. Palin does not represent us.

Obliged to you for hearing me,
and now old SjP ain’t got nothin’ more to say…
I’ll agree and the sex-ed platform but I still feel pro-choice/pro-life is an ideological thing. There’s no such thin in my view as being anti who you are. Pro life is pro fetus not anti woman.

YES, YES YES- I am so angry that when a woman finally has an opportunity like this we have someone like her sending us back 10 steps with her Joe Six pack and I can see Russia from here nonsense!
Much obliged Mike for stopping by and leaving a comment here. On the issue of pro-life or pro-choice, I believe that it is a personal decision that can only be made in the privacy of one’s heart and soul. Being pro-choice at least for me is being pro-privacy.
CdBase, much obliged for stopping by. Please don’t be a stranger. I couldn’t agree with you more. I find Sarah Palin extremely offensive. She neither represents my views as an American citizen or a woman. I am appalled that she is being held up as the poster child for women. I would no more want to go to lunch with her let alone vote for her to be president of the PTA much less VP of the USA.
I hope you both will have an opportunity to visit my other blog Sojourner’s Place sometimes.
